prof. dr Olha Prokopenko

Prof. dr Olha Prokopenko is a distinguished economist specializing in innovation motivation and sustainable development economics. She serves as a researcher at the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and holds professorships at Sumy State Makarenko Pedagogical University. Throughout her career, Prof. Prokopenko has led approximately 30 scientific projects, including four funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. She has supervised three doctors of science and ten PhD candidates. Her prolific contributions to academia include over 600 publications, 73 monographs, and 88 articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. Her work has garnered significant recognition, with her publications cited nearly 5,000 times. In recognition of her contributions, Prof. Prokopenko has received several honors, including the Gold Medal named after M.I. Tugan-Baranovsky and an Honorary Diploma from the Georgia National Institute of Economic Research. Her research interests encompass ecological economics, natural resource management, and sustainable development, reflecting her commitment to advancing knowledge in these critical areas.

Completed an advanced international project management course (Ecofys, Netherlands, 2008) and an international research internship (Aerospace Research Institute, University of Manchester, UK, 2014). The author of numerous national and international publications and implementational rationalization projects. A participant in research studies on human decision-making processes in the field of safety engineering for aviation and space exploration (e.g., Collegium Medicum, Bydgoszcz). A member of the international review team of the International Journal of Computer and Information Technology (IJCIT) and a Board Member of the Polish Chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).

Auxiliary Units, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Louisiana, USAMy research has focused on water quality and nonpoint source pollution control, water quality modeling, climate change adaptation, soil erosion, soil development and productivity, sustainable agriculture, organic farming, roadside vegetation and highway enhancement, waste water recycling, and farming systems. I teach several soil science and water quality courses at UL Lafayette. I am the Founder of the Asta-Ja Framework and the Co-founder of the Asta-Ja Abhiyan Nepal. The Asta-Ja Abhiyan Nepal (http://www.astajanepal.com/) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization and is founded on the basis of the conceptual framework of Asta-Ja meaning eight ja in Nepali language that includes Jal (water), Jamin (land), Jungle (forest), Jadibuti (medicinal and aromatic plants), Janashakti (manpower), Janawar (animals), Jarajuri (agricultural crops, fruits, and vegetables), and Jalabayu (climate) for sustainable development, natural resources conservation and socio-economic transformation of Nepal. I am also heavily involved in community activities.
